MP fun with Weasel and Rabies

Weasel , Spawnbob in Yemen Skirmish No1

The Skirmish we used was Yemen Skirmish No1 which puts you right in the enemy hands, the 1st skirmish we played we never finished, the 2nd one we did we lost. Due to the low amount of Apaches and Comanche's, a couple of bad missions can end it for you.

Remember the AI is flying and losing those helicopters as well. So if you start with 6 total Apaches/Comanche's. You really need to preserve them. This applies to the enemy as well.

Also on this skirmish there are no generators at all (Blue Side) so no resupply. On one of the flights I got shot up pretty bad, my stablisher gone etc, when in this condition your helicopter is still quite flyable but this time it was damm weird. I couldn't get my nose down, I was spinning but not losing altitude quickly, eventually I came to rest of the ground, my nose dug in to the dirt, rotor still spinning, I thought I made it, but I eventually blew up after about 10 seconds.

I had one mission where I went out alone as there was no Helicopters for Weasel, he said he would watch, aargh the pressure. Anyway I did do quite well, but the defense around the airbases where too much and I got wasted pretty quickly once over the airbase. Some of the shots were sent to me by Weasel

This was when my Helicopter taxied into the little truck thingy mejig

I did get into the air sometimes

At least our tanks are doing ok

My nosedive after some wacky stall

I don't think we will see those Blackhawks again

Weasel got to return to base a lot more than I did

Weasel hovering next to my wrecked helo on the FARP, this one wasn't my fault, some foul play was going on here

A Rare shot indeed Major Spawnbob not damaged

They haven't started shelling our FARP yet

Weasel might be in a bit of Trouble

My final attack on the enemy airbase

My luck at the enemy airbase finally run out

Rabies, Spawnbob in Yemen Skirmish

After that I had 2 Flights with Rabies on the same Skirmish, this time I hosted and I could feel a difference it was much easier to fly. Again using Roger Wilco we where actually quite successful. We did touch and go landings, rearming and repairing, even once I did it and I never got any hellfire's so I had to land again.

This time however we pushed all the way from the North FARP to the main town, taking out any SAM that crossed our path.

In the town there was plenty of Infantrymen with SAMS, so I ripped that town up with my cannon.

Out of the 2 missions the only helicopter not to come back was 1 of my Comanche's, which I crashed when landing too fast doh.

The thing about this one was that our FARP was under constant shelling so landing was an experience, you had to lucky not to get hit by an incoming shell.

Rabies tooked everything in his stride this was his first MP game on CH. He got both helo's home and went out for more.

An interesting thing on CH Multiplayer. There are 2 services that support Multiplayer Comanche Hokum.

First there is on your CH CDROM a directory called GC. Install it it's a MP service which supports CH it's called Game Channel, you register and set up a Comanche Hokum game, it's best to actually download the latest client software from there site. Note this is a German site with only small parts available for translation.

Also CH can be played on MSN Zone. It's not direct support so u won't find it in the list of Games. but if you go to Zone LAN and set up a game it will recognize CH as a Direct play game. Blaze and me where faffing around with this yesterday and it might be worth a look.

The possibility of people hosting their Games thru these services could serve as a common place to find MP games. No more hunting down ICQ # or IP's. Just go and look to see if a games up. Of course this would require the CH server operator to do it thru the zone but if might be worth doing.

I'm gonna hid in one of those until everyone has gone away

Rabies coming home to land at our battered base, that dead Comanche on the left was mine and the enemy hasn't stopped shelling us
